Writing For You Now
Going from negative self talk to positive affirmations can seem insurmountable, especially when you feel you don't deserve the happiness, the peace, the successes, or the love you want. When you've lived with negative self talk all your life, affirmations can sound downright ridiculous! Especially if you don't believe in them and you're skeptical of all the hype behind affirmations. Well, following are some that you can try on for size and see how they feel. They are simple yet helpful.
- I deserve to be successful: This may be difficult to do when you've felt unworthy all your life. The feeling of unworthiness is derived from low self esteem which sprouted from a negative statement that you were either told or you came up with yourself. You must over ride the undeserving part of your thought and believe that you truly deserve to be successful at whatever endeavor you choose.
- The power to change lies within me: You have a lot more control of your thoughts than you give yourself credit for. We all do, yet it seems so much easier to stay in a rut than to make the effort to get out. Believe and accept the fact that you, yourself, have the power to change what you think about yourself.
- I make the choice to eliminate destructive thoughts: Negative thoughts may not be destructive in and of themselves; however if embedded deeply they can and will produce the destructive outcomes. You give your thoughts life to live through you by your actions, and the goal is to eliminate them before they sprout the destructive action.
